In 2025, we sold the East Village Hotel.

Like many business sales, there were negotiations, delays, periods of waiting and the uncertainty that comes with handing over something that has shaped almost a decade of your life. When the sale finally settled, there was relief.

Our beach house in Pearl Beach was a significant early project for us.

We owned the property for many years and transformed it in two stages. It began with a modest renovation before evolving into a substantial rebuild and extension after we secured development approval years later.

I'm a Gold Coast girl.

I grew up on the Gold Coast in the 1980s, and we were rarely inside. If I wasn't riding my bike, I was at the beach. We swam in the ocean, walked barefoot and spent entire days outdoors without giving it a second thought.

We didn't have to chase nature back then.

My faith and my own experiences have taught me that creating places of enduring value isn't always limited to what we can touch or measure.

Sometimes I believe the unseen history of a place needs healing before a new chapter can begin.

By the time Heathcote was ready for its full renovation, I thought the house had revealed everything it wanted to teach me.

I was wrong.

Finding a creative life isn't always a straight line.

It certainly wasn't for me.
